Pandemonium 6 takes place on March 3rd at the Riverside Convention Center in Riverside, California and features a matchup between Angela Magana and 9th ranked Carla Esparza for the Pandemonium 115-pound Championship. The event will be streamed LIVE and Free on the Sherdog website.
Magana (11-4) began her career in 2007 and was considered one of the top Flyweights in the world, claiming victories over such notables as Lynn Alvarez, Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc and Jessica Aguilar. After a loss to Jessica Penne in September 2009, Magana took a year off before returning to compete in the Super Flyweight portion of the reality show, Ultimate Women’s Combat. The outcome of this show still hasn’t been released by the commission due to litigation, however Magana is quick to tell you she won her bout. She would fight twice in 2011 and both of those bouts would also be contested at 125-pounds. In May, she defeated Elsie Henri via a first round armbar and in August she would score another first round victory via armbar, this time over Avery Vilche. Now, for the first time in 2 and a half years, she returns to the Flyweight division looking to capture Gold. Esparza (6-2), a two-time All-American wrestler at Menlo College, began her MMA career in 2010 and rattled off three straight wins before stepping in on just a few days notice to face number 1 ranked Megumi Fujii in the Bellator 115-pound tournament. Esparza was very competitive in this bout before succumbing to an armbar in the second round. She would then win back-to-back bouts before losing a very close split decision to number 2 ranked Jessica Aguilar. In December 2011, she bounced back with a very convincing unanimous decision victory over Felice Herrig. With a win, Esparza not only walks away with the title, but continues her climb up the Flyweight ranks.
