Ronda Rousey secures another armbar victory at SFC 18

WMMA Today gets you caught up on the week that was and the week that will be in women’s MMA.

—Weekend Results—

(8-12) 9th ranked Featherweight, Ronda Rousey was victorious in her Strikeforce Challengers 18 debut, defeating Sarah D’Aleilo via armbar submission at :25 of the first round. However, the win did not come without controversy. After a beautiful transition to an armbar, Rousey cranked on the pressure which brought an “aggghhh” from D’Alelio. Rousey indicated to referee Steve Mazzagatti that she had heard a verbal submission from D’Alelio and although Mazzagatti himself obvisiously hadn’t heard it, he stopped the fight anyway.
