Freedom Fight: “For Honor and Pride” takes place on September 10th at the Sudbury Community Arena in Sudbury, Ontario and in the evening’s co-main event, Canada’s own Valerie “Trouble” Létourneau takes on Tannaya Hantelman in what will be Ontario’s first ever female MMA fight.
In a rematch from their pro debut in 2007, Létourneau and Hantelman meet once again. It was Létourneau (3-2) who would get the victory that day, winning via a second round TKO. Létourneau would then face top-10 ranked Sarah Kaufman and Alexis Davis, losing very competitive bouts to both. Since then she is on a two-fight win streak, lastly defeating former Olympian Julie Malenfant via TKO in April. Hantelman (3-3) also is on a two-fight win streak, defeating Anna Barone via unanimous decision in August 2010 and then following that up with a TKO victory a month later over Vicky Nadeau. Now, she’ll look to even the score with Létourneau.
