Heather Clark meets Marianna Kheyfets at XFC 16: “High Stakes”

XFC 16: “High Stakes” takes place on February 10th at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium-Coliseum in Knoxville, Tennessee and features a matchup between top 125-pound prospects, Heather “Hurricane” Clark and 10th ranked Marianna “The Crushen Russian” Kheyfets. The event will be televised LIVE on HDNet starting at 9pm eastern.

They say, “never leave it in the hands of the judges” and unfortunately Clark (4-1) learned that lesson in her pro debut, losing a decision to Karina Hallinan in a bout most thought she had won. Well, apparently Clark is a quick study, as she finished her next four opponents. In October 2010 she submitted Kyane Hamilton via armbar, January 2011 she knocked out April Coutino, a knockout that would earn her the “2011 Women’s MMA KO of the Year”. In April she would defeat Jennifer Scott via TKO and in her last outing, she would submit Sarah Alpar via a rear-naked choke. Kheyfets (4-0) began her career in July 2010 with an impressive triangle choke submission victory over Kim Couture and in December, she earned an unanimous decision victory over Marissa Caldwell. In a “Fight of the Night” performance in May 2011 against Kaline Medeiros, she would secure another triangle choke victory late in the third round, and in her last bout in October, she won a unanimous decision against tough veteran Molly Helsel.  Now, these two top prospects will look to establish themselves amongst the elite of the Super Flyweight division.
