Gaff Streamrolls Way Into Finals

“Women’s MMA Today” gets you caught up on the week that was and the week that will be in women’s MMA.

—News—

–   Invicta FC announced this week that their inaugural event on April 28th will be streamed LIVE and FREE on their website, InvictaFC.com. The stream will be blocked out in the Kansas City area, however tickets are still available at TicketMaster.com. It was also announced that Mauro Ranallo will serve as one of the commentators for the event. An announcement on who his broadcast partner will be is expected soon.

—Weekend Results—

3-16   It was 5th ranked Sheila “The German Tank” Gaff (10-4-1) streamrolling her way into the finals of the Cage Warriors 125-pound 4-woman tournament with a devastating 10-second KO over top Brazilian prospect and Chute Boxe product, Jennifer Maia (5-2-1). Gaff now awaits the winner of the matchup between 2nd ranked Rosi “The Surgeon” Sexton and 6th ranked Aisling “The Bash” Daly which is currently set for May.

3-17   Jasminka “Impressive” Cive (5-0) remained unbeaten and captured the Max FC 125-pound women’s championship in the process as she defeated pro boxer turned mixed martial artist Eva Henesová (0-1) via TKO stoppage in round three at Max FC 5: Liechtensteiner Fight Night 2012.

3-17   Lina “Lynx” Eklund (2-1) returned to the winners column with a hard fought unanimous decision victory over Fran Vanderstukken (0-1) at Staredown 6.

—Upcoming Fights—

3-23   Undefeated Finnish prospect Katja Kankaanpää (5-0) takes on 6th ranked Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi (9-3-1) at Botnia Punishment 11. The event will be streamed LIVE on Botnia Punishment FB page.

3-24   After her pro debut loss to Stacy “Hammer” Hayes was overturned to a no-contest for strikes after the bout, Chloe Hinchliffe (0-0-1) returns to face off with Hannah Stephens (1-0) at Kore MMA Championships.
