Botnia Punishment 11 takes place on March 23rd at the Rytmikorjaamo in Seinäjoki, Southern Ostrobothniain, Finland and features a 115-pound matchup between undefeated Finnish prospect Katja Kankaanpää and 6th ranked Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi. The event will be streamed LIVE on Botnia Punishment FB page.

Kankaanpää (5-0) debuted in 2010 with three wins, including a pair of stoppage victories over Dalia Grakulskyte and Niina Aaltonen under the Botnia Punishment banner. In 2011 she would earn two more victories, most notably by defeating then unbeaten Spanish prospect Karla Benitez. Perhaps even more notably is the fact that she took that fight on just a few days notice, replacing injured Finnish compatriot Maiju Kujala. This bout will mark the first time that Yamaguchi (9-3-1) has competed outside her home country of Japan. Yamaguchi began her career in 2007 by winning five of her first seven bouts. In 2010, she faced off against long-time star Yuka Tsuji for the Valkyrie 115-pound title, winning via a first round rear-naked choke, while handing Tsuji just her second loss in twenty-five career bouts. She would defend the title just once before the promotion folded. Since then she has won three of her last four bouts while competing for Pancrase and Jewels, the lone loss coming to highly ranked Seo Hee Ham via unanimous decision.
