—Weekend Results—

3-30  At RFA 2: “Yvel vs Alexander”, Tara LaRosa (21-2) returned to action and picked up a hard fought win over the always game Kelly Warren (3-3). All 3 judges had the fight even after two rounds, but LaRosa took Warren down in the third and worked for submissions throughout the round, finally securing an armbar with just one second left on the clock. In the other female pro bout, it was 6th ranked Featherweight Elaina “Beef” Maxwell (7-4) defeating Ashley “Loca” Sanchez (4-3) via unanimous decision (29-28 on all scorecards). Also on the card in amateur action, Jessamyn “The Gun” Duke defeated Elizabeth Phillips via guillotine choke at 58 seconds of the second round.

3-30  Munah Holland (4-1) scored the biggest win of her career as she knocked out 8th ranked Flyweight, Marianna “The Crushen Russian” Kheyfets (5-1) at Bellator 63. The first round was a back-and-forth affair that saw both women landing strikes on the feet, however the second stanza was all Holland, who dropped Kheyfets three times and finished her off with 15 seconds remaining.

3-31  Kaline Medeiros (1-2) defeated Stephanie “Snowflake” Eggink (1-1) via first round KO at Beatdown MMA.

3-31  Nicole Chua (1-0) not only made history as Singapore’s first female mixed martial artist, but also picked up the first win of her career by defeating Jeet Toshi (1-1) via a first round rear-naked choke at One FC 3.

4-1  At Pro FC 40, Danielle “The Curse” West (4-3) became the latest victim of poor Russia officiating as her bout with 3rd ranked Featherweight Milana Dudieva (8-1) came to a premature stop at just 25 seconds into the bout. Both fighters exchanged punches, however a right hand by Dudieva sent West to the canvas where she rolled to her side and latched onto Dudieva’s legs as Dudieva threw more punches from the top. West was still actively defending herself and attempting to get back to her feet, but the referee intervened and stopped the fight, declaring Milana the winner via TKO.

4-1  At Pancrase Progress Tour 4, 5th ranked Atomweight Naoko Omuro (13-8-4) defeated “Happy” Fukuko Hamado (7-7) via TKO at 2:17 of round two, while Kyoko Kimura (2-0) defeated Sung Eun Kim (0-1) via TKO at 1:01 of round one.
