Marciea Allen & Lauren Barefoot Victorious In Pro Debuts

“Women’s MMA Today” gets you caught up on the week that was and the week that will be in women’s MMA.

—Weekend Results—

August 10 –  As usual, the ladies stole the show at Disorderly Conduct: “The Yin & The Yang” in Omaha, NE. Both Lauren Barefoot (1-0) and Marciea Allen (1-0) made very impressive pro debuts as Barefoot stopped Ashleigh Curry (1-2) via TKO in round one and Allen finished off Chandra Engel (0-1) via a first round Triangle Choke. Also on the card were 4 amateur bouts:

Summer Artherton defeated Katie Moerke via TKO in round 3 for 115-pound title
Sarah McLeod defeated Alexandria Stobbe via Stranding Guillotine in round 3
Jozette Cotton defeated Erin Smith via Unanimous Decision
Mercedes Timmerman defeated Tera Carper via Split Decision

—Upcoming Fights—

August 17 –  Angela Magana (11-4) meets 5th ranked Flyweight Jessica “Evil” Eye (7-1) at NAAFS: “Rock N Rumble 6”. This event will be streamed LIVE and can be purchased for $10 at GoFightLive.

August 18 –  Strikeforce: “Rousey vs Kaufman” takes place at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, CA and features “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey (5-0) defending her Strikeforce Bantamweight Championship against number one contender and former champion Sarah Kaufman (15-1). This bout headlines the main card which will be shown LIVE on Showtime starting at 10pm ET.

On the undercard, 5th ranked Bantamweight Miesha “Takedown” Tate (12-3) takes on 8th ranked Julie “Fireball” Kedzie (16-10) and Muay Thai sensation Germaine “The Iron Lady” de Randamie (2-2) faces number 1 ranked Featherweight Hiroko “Cat’s Eye” Yamanaka (12-1, 1NC). The undercard bouts will be shown LIVE on Showtime Extreme starting at 8pm ET.

August 18 –  Jill Slatten (1-6) squares off against Jessica “Raising Havoc” Halverson (3-1) in an 165-pound bout at Fight Hard MMA and

August 18 –  Kinberly Novaes (3-1) meets Chayani Mendes (0-0) at NCF 12.
