MMAFighting – Sara McMann (pictured on the left) will make her Strikeforce debut on November 3rd against Liz “Girl-rilla” Carmouche.
According to sources close to the event, McMann and Carmouche have agreed to meet on the Strikeforce: Cormier vs Mir card, which will take place at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, OK. Strikeforce is expected to announce the fight shortly.
McMann, who signed with Strikeforce earlier this week, is a 2004 Olympic wrestling silver medalist. Since making her MMA debut in May 2011, she has gone 6-0, most recently defeating Shayna Baszler at Invicta FC 2 in July.
Carmouche (7-2) has won her last two fights in a row. She holds notable wins over Kaitlin Young and Jan Finney in her short MMA career.
The top 135-pound bout is expected to air on the main card of the Showtime-televised event. The winner could very well be next in line for a title shot against bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
