Claudinha Gadelha Moves To 8-0 at Shooto Brasil 34

“Women’s MMA Today” gets you caught up on the week that was and the week that will be in women’s MMA.

Due to an injury to Gilbert Melendez, Showtime and Strikeforce have decided to cancel the whole event. Strikeforce: “Melendez vs Healy” was also set to feature a women’s Bantamweight bout between Amanda Nunes and Cat Zingano.

—Weekend Results—

September 21 –  Claudinha Gadelha (8-0) needed little time to stop Adriana Vieira (1-1) at Shooto Brazil 34. Gadelha took Vieira down and worked her ground-n-pound until the referee stopped the bout at 1:35 of the very first round.

September 21 –  Kathina “Kill Switch” Catron (1-0) was successful in her pro debut, stopping Amber “The Crazy Bitch” Powell (3-4) via Guillotine Choke at 1:41 of round one at XFL 9.

September 21 –  Juliana “Ju Thai” Lima (5-0) keep her record perfect by defeating Aline Nery (2-4) via Unanimous Decision at Brasil Fight 6.

September 22 –  In pro MMA bouts at Jewels: “21st Ring”:
Shizuka Sugiyama (8-3) stopped Yurika Tanaka (0-1) via TKO at 1:24 of round two
Mika “Future Princess” Nagano (10-7) submitted Tomo Maesawa (0-1) via Armbar at 3:37 of round two
Satomi Takano (2-0) defeated Fukuko “Happy” Hamada (7-8-1) via Unanimous Decision
Celine Haga (2-11) submitted Anna Saito (1-11) via Armbar at 2:18 of round two

September 22 –  In a battle of fighters making their pro debuts, it was Allanna “Hands of Stone” Jones (1-0) over Kathleen Albany (0-1) via first round TKO at TWC 14: “Up Close and Personal”.

September 22 –  Paige “12 Guage” VanZant (2-0) picked up her second consecutive win by defeating Amber “The Apex Predator” Stautzenberger (0-1) via Unanimous Decision at PFS 2 and

September 22 –  Stephanie “The Scrapper” Skinner (2-4) spoiled Margaret “Brutal” Bloom (0-1) pro debut via a second round TKO at Kickdown 103: “Wizards”.

September 28 –  Michelle “T-Cat” Ould (6-4, 1NC) meets 6th ranked Flyweight Munah Holland (5-1) at Bellator 74. This bout will be on the undercard and streamed LIVE on Spike.com.

September 28 –  Sofia Bagherdai (4-2) makes her return to the Flyweight division to face Sarah “KO Kid’ Maloy (3-2) at XFC 20: “High Octane”. This bout will be televised LIVE on AXStv.

September 29 –  Yuka“Vale Tudo Queen” Tsuji (23-3) takes on Hyo Kyung Song (0-0) at DEEP: “Osaka Impact 2012” and

September 30 –  Annalisa “No Fear” Bucci (2-2) battles Lenka Smetankova (0-0) at MMAA Arena.
