“Women’s MMA Today” gets you caught up on the week that was and the week that will be in women’s MMA.


Invicta Fighting Championships announced 10 of their 14 bouts for their fifth event which takes place on April 5th and is targeted for the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. The event is headlined with Jessica Penne defending her Atomweight title against Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson and in the co-main event, Barb “Little Warrior” Honchak battles Vanessa Porto for the inaugural Flyweight title.

Ediene “India” Gomes vs Julia “The Jewel” Budd
“Rowdy” Bec Hyatt vs Jasminka “Impressive” Cive

Veronica “The Heartbreaker” Rothenhausier vs “Miss” Mollie Estes
River “Ruckus” Jones vs Lauren Barefoot

The remaining 4 bouts are expected to be announced this week.

February 8 –  DeAnna “The Argentine Assassin” Bennett (2-0) kept her unbeaten streak in tact by besting Julianna “The Venezuelan Vixen” Pena (3-2) via Unanimous Decision at Showdown Fights 10 and

February 9 –  Lacey “The Ladie” Schuckman (8-6) picked up her first victory as an Atomweight with a hard fought Unanimous Decision over Darla “Train Wreak” Harris (3-2) at SCL: “ThunderDome”.

February 16 –  Thea Wolfe (0-0) meets Sarah “The Midget” Lagerstrom (0-0) in what will be both fighters pro debuts at CageSport 23 and

February 16 –  Belinda “The Bellringer” Sedgwick (0-1) replaces an injured Jessy Rose to face Amy Adam (0-1) at BFC 19.
