“Women’s MMA Today” gets you caught up on the week that was and the week that will be in women’s MMA.

—Weekend Results—

April 26 –  Lena “Hunter” Ovchynnikova (9-2) returned to her winning ways with a first round submission victory via guillotine choke against Fathia Mostafa (0-1) at SFL 16.

April 27 –  Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann (7-0) used her superior wrestling to dictate the action, stopping Sheila “The German Tank” Gaff (10-5-1) via first round TKO from unanswered punches from a top-side crucifix at UFC 159.

April 27 –  Iasmine “Mine” Fernandes (2-0) made quick work of Aylla Caroline (0-0), winning via KO in round one at Imperium MMA Pro 3.

April 27 –  In a bout between two of Poland’s top bantamweights, it was Agnieszka Niedzwiedz (3-0) coming out on top of Klaudia Apenit (1-2) with a second round TKO victory at MMA Attack 3 and

April 27 –  Erica Paes (2-1) returned to the cage after an 8-year hiatus to defeat Gisele Maciel (1-2) via triangle choke in round one at Gringo Super Fight.

May 4 –  “Little” Patricia Vidonic (7-5) steps up a weight class and on short notice to meet Jessica “Black” Doerner (3-1) at Magic City Mayhem 2.
