“Women’s MMA Today” gets you caught up on the week that was and the week that will be in women’s MMA.

—TUF News—

Last week’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter featured a battle between each team’s number one picks, Julianna Peña of Team Tate and Shayna Baszler of Team Rousey. Baszler, the odds on favorite to win the entire competition, was expected to make short work of Pena, however on this night it was Pena securing the huge upset, via a second round rear-naked choke. With the victory, Team Tate obtained control of the next fight pick and matched up Chris Holdsworth against Team Rousey representative Chris Beal. TUF airs each Wednesday night at 10pm ET on Fox Sports 1.
