Rose Namajunas To Face Nina Ansaroff At UFC 187 In Las Vegas

 
Highly-touted prospect “Thug” Rose Namajunas looks to bounce back from her loss in the TUF 20 tournament final in December when she returns to action at UFC 187: “Jones vs Johnson” on May 23rd in Las Vegas, Nevada. Namajunas is set to face off against Nina “The Strina” Ansaroff on the card.

UFC officials announced the bout this week following a report from Combat Press. Namajunas submitted three opponents on TUF 20 before falling to UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Carla “Cookie Monster” Esparza. Ansaroff’s five-fight winning streak was halted by a loss in her UFC debut.

TUF 20 Episode 7 Recap: Rose Namajunas Submits Alex Chambers

 
Highly-touted prospect “Thug” Rose Namajunas notched the first victory for Team Melendez during tonight’s seventh episode of The Ultimate Fighter 20: “A Champion Will Be Crowned.” Namajunas put her team on the board by submitting Team Pettis’s Alex “Astro Girl” Chambers late in round one.

Both fighters felt pressure leading up to tonight’s elimination round bout, as Chambers was tasked with keeping Team Pettis’s perfect record intact and Namajunas looked to end Team Melendez’s disappointing losing streak. In the end, Namajunas dominated the fight and was very emotional in victory.

Rose Namajunas vs Tecia Torres Added To Invicta FC 6 Card

 

 
Prospects “Thug” Rose Namajunas and Tecia “The Tiny Tornado” Torres will face off in a featured strawweight bout at Invicta Fighting Championships 6. AXS TV’s Inside MMA first reported on the Namajunas-Torres matchup tonight. Invicta FC 6 is targeted for July 13th in Kansas City, Missouri.

 
 
 
Namajunas is coming off of a 12-second highlight-reel flying armbar victory at Invicta FC 5 earlier this month. She has yet to taste defeat in six career MMA bouts (2 pro, 4 amateur). Torres is also unbeaten in her nine-fight career (2 pro, 7 amateur) and she most recently earned an impressive Unanimous Decision victory at Invicta FC 4.
