UCMMA 22: “Warrior Creed” takes place on August 6th at The Troxy in London, England and features Michelle Tyler taking on Jewels veteran, Celine Haga and world Thai boxing champions, Anna Zuchelli and Karen Ousey meeting in their pro MMA debuts. This event will be shown LIVE on PPV in the UK on channel Primetime Sky channel 480.
Tyler (1-0) and Haga (1-8) was originally scheduled to meet on May 14th at UCMMA 20, but unfortunately the bout was canceled due to an injury suffered by Tyler just days before the event. Now, fully recovered, Tyler looks to get back to her winning ways. In her pro debut, Tyler and Vicki Watts went to war for three rounds, until with only minutes left in the fight, Tyler landed a beautiful over-hand right that sent Watts crumbling to the floor for the KO victory. Haga has fought against some of Europe’s top competition, having most recently lost to 8th ranked Flyweight, Kyoko Takabayashi at Jewels 15. Currently, she is on a four fight losing streak and she’ll look to use her vast experience advantage over Tyler to end that streak.
Zucchelli (0-0) holds multiple titles and is ranked number 1 in the UK for Muay Thai at 57kg. Her pro Muay Thai record is 14 -0-3. Ousey (0-0), also a holder of multiple titles, sports a pro Muay Thai record of 17 -0-1. When asked about the matchup, Ousey said, “I’m really excited and honored to be fighting on The Ultimate Challenge on August 6th for my first pro MMA fight against Anna Zuchelli. I see this as a new adventure and I’m really looking forward to trying out everything I learned within Muay Thai and applying it to the new skills I have acquired for MMA. I see MMA as a natural evolution to my fighting. It’s also great to get behind women’s MMA and hopefully help establish it further.”
