MMA Fight Pit: “Genesis” takes place at The Pit in Albuquerque, NM on August 13th and features a battle within the strawweight division between Angelica “South Valley’s Own” Chavez and Diana “Dynamite” Rael. This event also features many former UFC and WEC veterans, and will be available on PPV for $30.
Chavez (4-0), ranked 8th at 105-pounds by the Unified Women’s MMA Rankings, will be making her second appearance as a strawweight, having defeated a very tough Jenn Berg via guillotine choke in the first round of their February matchup. Chavez’s other three victories have also come via submission. Rael (2-1) is coming off the first loss of her career, losing to Lacey Schuckman in the first round via a rear naked choke. Prior to that, both of Rael’s victories had come via TKO. With neither of these women having seen the third round yet, one might not want to blink during this bout.
