“Women’s MMA Today” gets you caught up on the week that was and the week that will be in women’s MMA.

–UFC News–

Apparently, Ronda Rousey can hit mitts. The “Rowdy” one’s full arsenal was on display at UFC 168 on Saturday night as she out-struck and out-grappled her arch-rival Miesha Tate en route to a third round submission victory via her signature finish – the armbar. With the win, Rousey not only kept her title, but picked up an extra $75,000 ‘Submission of the Night’ bonus, as well as an additional $75,000 ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus. It was also announced that she would be back in action on February 22nd headlining UFC 170 against fellow undefeated Olympian Sara McMann.

December 31 –  2013 goes out with a bang as Cage Warriors 63 takes place in Dublin, Ireland and features three female bouts. Amanda English (0-0) makes her pro debut against Italy’s Slavka Vitaly (2-0) and Catherine Costigan (2-0) looks to keep her record perfect against France’s Morgane Delagnau (0-0). These bouts are part of the prelims and will stream LIVE on the Cage Warriors Facebook page starting at 2:30pm ET. On the main card, Aisling “Ais the Bash” Daly (13-5) meets Spain’s Karla Benitez (11-5). The main card will stream LIVE at 4pm ET on MMAjunkie.
